ERP Business Analyst required for a growing manufacturing business, based just to the west of Glasgow.
The company:
They are a well-known manufacturing company based in Glasgow, and have grown to around 750 staff in the last few years (double digit percentage growth, year on year). This growth has come purely from their product and technology doing very well in the market and continuing to be used globally.
There are currently 17 people across the IT team (headquartered from Glasgow) and you will be working as one of three new Business Analyst's who have been added to the team. The IT team are all Glasgow based and each BA has a specialism across the business, from Finance to Sales and to you, Manufacturing.
The company are working to a hybrid model, and would ask their employees to be in the Glasgow office 3 days a week (plenty of onsite parking).
The role:
You will be a Business Analyst with ideally a strong background in Manufacturing and ERP (what ERP does not greatly matter). The role is very focused on improving the internal processes across the business, hence the addition of the three new Business Analyst's. Each BA will be assigned an area to improve, yours being Manufacturing (including areas such as logistics and warehouse management). You have been brought in with process improvement in mind, and you will have flexibility and authority to help to improve these across the wider business.
You will act as the bridge between IT and the business and this isn't a technical role - the most technical element being writing functional specs etc. To provide context to initial projects you will work on, these will include areas such as working out ways to gain more effective reports through the use of Power BI. Therefore having some analytical knowledge and this 'mindset' would help with the role.
Key Skills and Experience:
** Manufacturing background and knowledge - from a Business Analyst perspective
** Ideally some strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Epicor, IFS, Dynamics, JDE etc)
** Strong stakeholder management skills
** Ability to document processes, troubleshooting
** Strong process improvement mindset
** Experience with requirements gathering and use case analysis
** The ability to manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity concurrently
** Experience with Power BI/Crystal Reports/SSRS (beneficial)
** Third party involvement (work together as a team)
Role responsibilities:
** Develop positive customer relationships which make it possible to influence change while collaborating in defining and implementing business focussed IT solutions
** Work with the business to assess current business processes and recommend best practices and define innovative solutions
** Interact with business end user community to understand a specific need, document new functional requirements and work with other IT team members to implement solutions
** Design, develop, implement, and maintain business application software solutions
This is an opportunity to work for a business who are growing and thriving in the current marketplace, with excellent benefits and opportunities to boot.
