A well-established energy provider in Glasgow City Centre is looking for a Front End React Developer to join their growing team. The company are one of the leaders in the industry striving to completely Green Energy and you'll have the opportunity to work in a team that has a pivotal role in that.
Over the last few years, the team have been focusing a lot on transitioning from Web Development to proper Software Engineering which means that you'll have the opportunity to work on the actual build of tools rather than just maintaining them and/or using them. The team also has plans to build some new products, so it's an amazing time to be joining them.
They use React for all their Front End Development and are therefore, looking for a Front End Developer that has strong commercial React experience. Like a lot of companies, they've made the transition from JavaScript to TypeScript so any prior experience of TypeScript would be a big bonus for them. With the move from Web Development to Software Engineering, they feel like the have a higher standard of technical environment which means you're likely to really improve your skills once you get into the company, which is never a bad thing.
The rest of their tech stack includes Redux, Next.js, Node.js, GraphQL, Java, Spring & AWS. These are some of the skills that you'll have the opportunity upskill in if that's something you're interested in doing of course!
Their teams are full of strong communicators as they tend to hire people that are keen on getting involved. You don't have to be the person that is leading every meeting but as long as you're keen on putting your own ideas forward, that's ideal for them. If you're passionate about Renewable Energy, then this could be the perfect role for you.
Another transition the team has went through has been the re-structure of their teams so that each team is better aligned to the products. With this, the teams will be a bit smaller which will give people the opportunity to be more involved with the direction of the products which should be appealing for anyone that wants to join the team.
The company would expect you to come into their Glasgow City Centre office at least once per week and can pay up to £55,000 for the role, depending on experience. They have an amazing benefits package on top of this which includes a 10% pension contribution, 10% performance related bonus and much more.
If you're an experienced React Engineer that is passionate about Green Energy, then please apply and/or get in touch with Jack Steven at Cathcart Technology.
