A pioneering tech company in Glasgow who are focused on sustainability (a chance to feel good about the work you do) are looking for a Technical Lead with good experience in Application Development and Support - you'll be leading a newly created squad.
The company are leaders in their field and have done some interesting and varied projects across the UK from Shetland to Glasgow, as well as further afield (the rest of the UK, Europe and the US). They have a very busy pipeline of projects for 2023 that you will be heavily exposed to in this role.
You'll be leading the company's newest Agile Squad (there's currently 5 multi-disciplinary squads, with 5 people in each) and will be expected to be an effective leader of the team. You will be involved in design, development and complex support issues for their magnitude of projects.
Tech wise you will be predominantly focused on the back end, working heavily with Java (they use Spring for most applications) and an opportunity to gain some cloud experience as they host multiple applications on AWS. There is scope to transition into other teams within the company and to really make this role your own as it is a new squad. They have a multi-disciplinary Dev team full of Java Developers, Front-End Developers, UX Specialists, DevOps Engineers, Architects, Scrum Masters + many more.
You'll ideally have experience with most of the following;
** Core Java
** Spring / SpringBoot
** Working in an Agile environment.
** Line Management experience
** Working within a 2nd or 3rd line software support function
Experience with the following is highly desirable;
** Jira
** Test Tools (Ranorex, Cucumber, Postman)
** Shell Scripting (Bash, PowerShell)
They're able to offer a salary up to £70K dependent on experience, plus an annual bonus (based off company performance). Other benefits include 33 days holiday, 5% matched pension contribution and life assurance. They are looking at a hybrid working model (1-2 days a week in the office).
The type of work the company do is a little bit different, not your typical software technology company so there's the opportunity to delve in some varied projects that are beneficial to the planet.
