Change Manager

Glasgow | £45,000 - £66,000 | Permanent

Published: 21.09.26 Ref: BBBH52864_1790006857

Business Change Manager required on a 12 month fixed term contract, to join a large-scale transformation programme within a complex organisation with a significant presence across Scotland and the UK.

This is a major transformation initiative covering technology, customer journeys, ways of working and organisational culture. The organisation is investing heavily in modernising how it operate, introducing new technology with the customer experience in mind while supporting its people through a significant period of change.

You'll join an established Business Change function and work alongside project teams, senior leaders and a wide range of stakeholders to make sure transformation is successfully adopted and embedded across the organisation.

The Company

This is a large, complex organisation operating in an environment where technology, operational efficiency and customer experience are becoming increasingly important to its future.

The business is going through a significant period of modernisation, with major transformation initiatives spanning new technology, customer journeys, internal ways of working and wider cultural change.

With a large and diverse workforce, successfully delivering this transformation will depend as much on how people adapt as it does on the technology itself. The organisation is therefore investing in its internal change capability, moving towards greater ownership of transformation rather than relying heavily on external consultancy support.

You'll be joining a comprehensive Business Change team, working alongside experienced change professionals and having the opportunity to contribute to how change is delivered across the wider organisation.

The Role

You'll help deliver business change across a number of major transformation initiatives, taking responsibility from initial planning through to adoption and embedding.

You'll work with project teams and senior stakeholders to understand what is changing, who will be affected and what needs to happen for people to successfully adopt new processes, technology and ways of working. This will involve developing change strategies, assessing impacts, building engagement and ensuring teams are ready for what is coming.

Technology is a significant part of the programme, but this isn't purely a technology change role. A lot of the work focuses on customer journeys and how new technology can improve the customer experience, alongside wider cultural and organisational programmes.

The team follows Prosci ADKAR and takes an agile approach to change, while also valuing LEAN thinking and continuous improvement. You'll be expected to use structured change management practices while adapting your approach to the needs of each programme.

There is also significant stakeholder exposure, so you'll need to be comfortable working with senior leaders, project teams, training specialists and operational colleagues, providing advice and influencing decisions throughout the change journey.

Key Responsibilities

** Lead business change activity across major transformation initiatives from strategy and planning through to adoption and embedding

** Develop and deliver structured change strategies and plans, using Prosci ADKAR and other appropriate change management approaches

** Assess the impact of changes across people, customer journeys and technology and identify the support required to transition teams successfully

** Work closely with project and technology teams to build change activity into transformation programmes from the outset

** Engage and influence senior stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the change journey

** Coordinate communications, engagement, readiness and training activity to help people understand and adopt new ways of working

** Support cultural and behavioural change programmes alongside technology and process transformation

** Identify opportunities to simplify and improve customer journeys and ways of working, applying LEAN thinking and continuous improvement principles

** Monitor adoption and readiness, identifying barriers and taking action to address them

About You

** Proven experience delivering business change across large-scale transformation programmes, ideally with genuine end-to-end ownership

** Comfortable working across technology, process, people and cultural change rather than specialising in one particular area

** Strong knowledge of change management methodologies, ideally including Prosci ADKAR, alongside an understanding of project lifecycles and governance

** Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence to work with senior leaders

** Experience working in complex, operationally critical environments with multiple stakeholders, competing priorities and significant interdependencies

** Ideally, experience within a regulated industry or another environment where change needs to be carefully managed

** Comfortable working in an agile environment with an interest in LEAN thinking and continuous improvement

** Pragmatic and adaptable, with the ability to apply change methodology appropriately rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach

They are particularly interested in people who can demonstrate taking complex change through the full lifecycle, rather than experience focused solely on communications, training or one specific stage of a transformation.

What's on Offer

The role can be based from offices in Aberdeen, Perth, Glasgow or Inverness, with hybrid working available. Around 50% of your time will be spent in the office, with some travel to other UK sites depending on the requirements of the programme.

The role is initially offered as a 12 month fixed term contract with a salary between £45,000 - £66,000, alongside a bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.

If you're a Business Change Manager with experience delivering complex transformation end-to-end and are looking for a role where you can work across a major transformation programme, please apply or reach out to Murray Simpson.

Candidates

I have had dealings with the majority of recruitment agencies in this country and beyond. He really stands out from the crowd and the IT industry would benefit from more people like him.

Software Developer – Glasgow

He is the most honest, thorough and experienced recruitment consultant I have ever dealt with. If he can’t help you, he’ll tell you rather than spinning a yarn and putting you forward for jobs that aren’t suitable.

Technical Author – Edinburgh

She even was able to help get a firmer offer as I was offered two roles on the same day. I felt she went over and above to get the best offer she could for me without selling myself short.

QA Engineer – Glasgow

She was friendly, communicative and informative, talked me through the process and gave me good advice at every stage.

Software Engineer – Manchester

He goes out of his way to ensure you are prepared for your interview and I particularly appreciated his professional no nonsense approach to working with me to find a new position.

Infrastructure Architect – Glasgow

A friend looking after me, that’s how I felt. His friendly character made the whole process way easier and enjoyable, he also managed to get me one of the most interesting work opportunities. I’m really glad our paths have crossed.

Software Engineer - Edinburgh

Equal parts friendly and professional, never once coming across as simply going through the motions and made the whole thing as painless as possible for all parties

Software Developer – Glasgow

Compared to other recruiters I have worked with she seemed genuinely interested in helping me with my job search rather than just fulfilling quotas.

Software Developer – Lincoln

He stood out in a world of poorly informed, unreliable and frankly annoying recruiters as a breath of fresh air.

Data Scientist – Manchester

It was a breath of fresh air – She is professional and approachable and will be there to help you every step of the way. Other recruiters give you the hard sell and the ‘best friend routine’ to get you on board and then just leave you guessing, but not here… She’s the real deal

Solutions Architect – Glasgow

THE BEST test recruiter I’ve had the pleasure of working with, from start to finish. She provided me with training resources and is an organiser and participant in testing events. She really has taken the time to fully understand the testing principles.

Test Analyst – Aberdeen

I’ve never written a recommendation for a recruiter before, so it must show how impressed I am!

Software Developer – Northampton

I can say with total sincerity I’ve never dealt with a more professional, knowledgeable and personable recruitment firm in fifteen years of contracting. They helped my wife and I relocate to Edinburgh with our five month old son and it’s in no small part to their tips and recommendations that we’ve settled in so quickly.

Transformation Consultant – Leeds

Absolutely fantastic throughout my interview process, and I cannot recommend him highly enough! First of all, he is an absolutely brilliant communicator and extremely reliable. On top of all of his brilliant recruitment skills, it was amazing to see how genuinely excited he was for me when I received my offer. This truly conveyed to me how much he cares about his clients.

Software Engineer – Edinburgh

Never have a I met a recruiter like him, who embeds himself in the community so thoroughly in a way that could only be genuine. From our conversations, he has shown an understanding of the industry I would expect from a local CTO.

MI Analyst – Bolton
