The company:

They are a well-known manufacturing company based in Glasgow, and have grown to around 750 staff in the last few years (double digit percentage growth, year on year). This growth has come purely from their product and technology doing very well in the market and continuing to be used globally.

There are currently 17 people across the IT team (headquartered from Glasgow) and you will be working as one of three Business Analyst's who have been added to the team. The IT team are all Glasgow based and each BA has a specialism across the business, from Finance to Manufacturing and to you, Sales.

The company are working to a hybrid model, and would ask their employees to be in the Glasgow office 3 days a week (plenty of onsite parking).

The role:

You will be a Business Analyst with ideally a strong background in Sales and ERP/CRM (what ERP/CRM system does not greatly matter). The role is very focused on improving the internal processes across the business, hence the addition of the recent new Business Analyst's. Each BA will be assigned an area to improve, yours being Sales (including areas such as CRM and ERP). You have been brought in with process improvement in mind, and you will have flexibility and authority to help to improve these across the wider business.

You will act as the bridge between IT and the business and this isn't a technical role - the most technical element being writing functional specs etc. To provide context to initial projects you will work on, these will include areas such as working out ways to gain more effective reports through the use of Power BI. Therefore having some analytical knowledge and this 'mindset' would help with the role.

Key Skills and Experience:

** Sales background and knowledge - from a Business Analyst perspective

** Ideally some strong knowledge of ERP or CRM systems (Dynamics, SAP, Epicor, IFS, JDE etc)

** Strong stakeholder management skills

** Ability to document processes, troubleshooting

** Strong process improvement mindset

** Experience with requirements gathering and use case analysis

** The ability to manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity concurrently

** Experience with Power BI/Crystal Reports/SSRS (beneficial)

** Third party involvement (work together as a team)

Role responsibilities:

** Understanding and Documenting Capabilities - You'll identify and document the capabilities needed to address business challenges. This involves reviewing assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify operational, financial, and technological risks

** Develop positive customer relationships which make it possible to influence change while collaborating in defining and implementing business focussed IT solutions

** Manage customer relationships and expectations by developing effective communication processes. Stay current with customer needs and strategies, communicating updates and findings through various channels

** Work with the business to assess current business processes and recommend best practices and define innovative solutions

** Interact with business end user community to understand a specific need, document new functional requirements and work with other IT team members to implement solutions

** Design, develop, implement, and maintain business application software solutions

This is an opportunity to work for a business who are growing and thriving in the current marketplace, with excellent benefits and opportunities to boot.

Candidates

A friend looking after me, that’s how I felt. His friendly character made the whole process way easier and enjoyable, he also managed to get me one of the most interesting work opportunities. I’m really glad our paths have crossed.

Software Engineer - Edinburgh

He is the most honest, thorough and experienced recruitment consultant I have ever dealt with. If he can’t help you, he’ll tell you rather than spinning a yarn and putting you forward for jobs that aren’t suitable.

Technical Author – Edinburgh

I’ve never written a recommendation for a recruiter before, so it must show how impressed I am!

Software Developer – Northampton

I have had dealings with the majority of recruitment agencies in this country and beyond. He really stands out from the crowd and the IT industry would benefit from more people like him.

Software Developer – Glasgow

She even was able to help get a firmer offer as I was offered two roles on the same day. I felt she went over and above to get the best offer she could for me without selling myself short.

QA Engineer – Glasgow

Compared to other recruiters I have worked with she seemed genuinely interested in helping me with my job search rather than just fulfilling quotas.

Software Developer – Lincoln

I can say with total sincerity I’ve never dealt with a more professional, knowledgeable and personable recruitment firm in fifteen years of contracting. They helped my wife and I relocate to Edinburgh with our five month old son and it’s in no small part to their tips and recommendations that we’ve settled in so quickly.

Transformation Consultant – Leeds

Never have a I met a recruiter like him, who embeds himself in the community so thoroughly in a way that could only be genuine. From our conversations, he has shown an understanding of the industry I would expect from a local CTO.

MI Analyst – Bolton

Absolutely fantastic throughout my interview process, and I cannot recommend him highly enough! First of all, he is an absolutely brilliant communicator and extremely reliable. On top of all of his brilliant recruitment skills, it was amazing to see how genuinely excited he was for me when I received my offer. This truly conveyed to me how much he cares about his clients.

Software Engineer – Edinburgh

She was friendly, communicative and informative, talked me through the process and gave me good advice at every stage.

Software Engineer – Manchester

THE BEST test recruiter I’ve had the pleasure of working with, from start to finish. She provided me with training resources and is an organiser and participant in testing events. She really has taken the time to fully understand the testing principles.

Test Analyst – Aberdeen

It was a breath of fresh air – She is professional and approachable and will be there to help you every step of the way. Other recruiters give you the hard sell and the ‘best friend routine’ to get you on board and then just leave you guessing, but not here… She’s the real deal

Solutions Architect – Glasgow

He stood out in a world of poorly informed, unreliable and frankly annoying recruiters as a breath of fresh air.

Data Scientist – Manchester

He goes out of his way to ensure you are prepared for your interview and I particularly appreciated his professional no nonsense approach to working with me to find a new position.

Infrastructure Architect – Glasgow

Equal parts friendly and professional, never once coming across as simply going through the motions and made the whole thing as painless as possible for all parties

Software Developer – Glasgow
