Business Confidence in Scotland through the roof
Published: 02.09.26

The latest business barometer from Bank of Scotland / Lloyds shows that confidence in the Scottish business landscape has increased significantly.
Business confidence in Scotland for August is now sitting at 55%, a 13 point increase on July’s 42%. We are now above the 12 month average of 46%, and the previous 12 month high of 52%.
What’s behind this?:
- Stronger customer demand (now 71%)
- An increase in investement in technology (50%)
- A general rising in demand (63%)
More encouraging for us, 44% of businesses said they except to increase staff levels in the next year. This combined with the increase in investment in technology should be great news for tech job seekers and technology recruitment companies.
