A well-established Tech Consultancy based in Scotland (Edinburgh and Glasgow) are on the lookout for a couple of skilled Senior Software Engineers to join several of their Agile squads. They're offering the opportunity to work with a really modern tech stack (or even cross-train in something new), where you will be building really scalable greenfield solutions in a really fun and flexible work environment.
They've got a really busy pipeline of projects, really strong relationships with their long list of clients which spirals across multiple sectors (Fintech, Renewables, Oil & Gas, Public + many more!). It's a really unique environment where Engineers can have a lot of choice in what projects they want to join and tech they want to work with - this is highlighted with the tenure of many of their team, as many have been with the business for 5-10 years (it's really uncommon for someone to have a short-stint here!).
The company are fairly tech agnostic, they tend to use what fits the project best - which is why it's so important to them Engineers are offered the opportunity to choose which projects fits their strengths and interests. However, to give you a flavour for some of the technologies used; Java, .Net, Python, JavaScript / TypeScript, and Cloud Services (Azure + AWS). Don't worry they aren't looking for a "ninja" here, merely someone that has experience with at least one of their programming languages, whatever your background.
You'll find yourself joining one of their Agile squads (circa 6 Engineers depending on the project) and usually you'll be with the project from its initial design straight through to its completion - so you'll really pick up good exposure to working on large-scale projects. The teams are also really well defined as each will usually have a Project Lead, Software Architect, Front-End, Back-End or Full Stack Engineers, UX Specialists, Automation Engineers and DevOps Engineers.
What separates them from other consultancies is you'll never be offshored to their client, you'll work within the business at all times (either onsite or at home). They also have a pretty strict no-overtime policy, as they're massive on finding the right work-to-life balance - so fortunately no really tight-deadlines or working late into the night. On top of this, they offer really flexible working - they're a family first organisation so the school drop off / pick up or even mid-day nursery appointments are all fine here. Not to mention, the company run multiple events from guest speakers to even weekly lunch treats for the team!
They have offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, you can work from either location. They ideally hope people can pop into the offices once a week for SPRINTS / Meetings / Tech events etc but are pretty flex.
They offer a competitive salary for this role (more than happy to discuss figures before submitting an application). This is on-top of a fairly competitive benefits package which includes an annual training allowance, good pension, loyal rewarding holiday scheme + many more.
If you match most of the criteria, please do apply and feel free to reach out to Douglas Paget at Cathcart Technology to find out more.
