Head of Data required for a SaaS software start-up based out of London.

The company

They have recently separated from their parent business, and are starting out as a new entity. The business is developing a SaaS Platform, that essentially allows their customers to procure goods in a fast and easy manner using Artificial Intelligence. They are already in a great spot, as already have the customer base for their services from household names such as Vodafone and Amazon, and with financial security from their parent company.

The business is already nearly 100 strong, and they have plans to add another 10-15 individuals to the Dev team this year - this position is a brand new one also. The role will ideally be based from London, with the company operating a hybrid work model. The expectations are to be in office at least twice a week.

The role

This is a newly created position and will report into the CTO. You will initially come in to manage and shape the data strategy across the organisation, followed hiring by an internal data team. You will eventually lead and manage the Data Team, with a Data Analyst and Data Scientist under your leadership (soon to hire). You will lead the data team in architecting and implementing data solutions that align with business goals and support growth at scale. Although a Lead role, you will need to be well versed in Data Architecture and potentially some "hands-on" data work initially, whilst the function is being built. The team have recently released version 1 of the SaaS Platform, with it likely version 2 will be released in October/November time.

This business are ideally looking for someone from a tech company, who focus on data. Having experience with consumer habits would be hugely beneficial. You will be the initial data person, so having a hands-on ability would be useful, albeit not pivotal. Additionally, a huge value add would be someone with experience of Artificial Experience, as this will be used in future version of the platform.

You will need to make key technical and architectural decisions, alongside the Software Architect (already internal). On top of this, you will oversee the selection and integration of new tools and technologies, alongside frameworks, in order to ensure alignment with current and future development needs. From a coding perspective, this will likely be limited however you may need to often get your hands dirty, especially initially - a technical eye as mentioned, is important.

Key Skills and Responsibilities:

** Having managed a high-performing team of Data Scientists and Analyst's, across a thriving, data first business

** The ability to make key architectural and technical decisions that align with business objectives and ensure the scalability, performance, and security of applications

** Data Architecture background

** Ability to be "hands-on" with the data when needed

** Develop and own the organization's data strategy, ensuring it aligns with business objectives and future growth plans

** Define clear goals for data management, analytics, and governance, and translate these into actionable roadmaps for the data team

** Guide the execution of the data strategy, ensuring that architecture, tooling, and processes support the seamless integration and usage of data across the organization

** Design and oversee the implementation of scalable and efficient data architecture that enables effective data storage, processing, and retrieval across all platforms

** Advocate for the use of advanced data techniques, such as machine learning, AI, and predictive analytics, to solve complex business problems and unlock new opportunities

** Experience in an Agile software environment (ideally SaaS)
